Breda Airport now offers new environmentally friendlier fuel Avgas UL94

Breda Airport offers Avgas UL94
Bosschenhoofd, 27 juni 2024
As of early May, Breda International Airport has started offering Avgas UL94 as the first airport in the Netherlands. This new type of fuel is comparable with other aviation fuels but without the TEL (TetraEthylLead) ingredient. This makes this fuel more environmentally friendly. The indicator UL means “Unleaded”.
Directeur Jan Voeten explains: “As a regional airport we are acutely aware of our duty in society and have explicitly chosen to take a leading role in this matter. After a thorough analysis we came to the conclusion that this fuel can be used in the majority of the aircraft that fly out of Breda Airport or who visit our airfield.”
By offering this new type of fuel besides the traditional Avgas100LL, Breda Airport offers its pilots an interesting alternative. On top of that, the price at our pump is almost 50 Eurocents lower then the traditional aviation fuel.
“UL94 is a certified aviation fuel that has all the qualities of the traditional AVGAS, yet without the TEL component” Sven Schepers, Directeur of fuel supplier Check Six, continues. “It allows airfields to transition a large part of their fleet to a more environmentally friendly aviation fuel without major technical changes or adaptations and at a price level which is significantly lower then the traditional Aviation Fuel which literally makes it a win-win situation.”
